An assortment of injuries have limited Williams to 68 games or less in the past three seasons, but the veteran certainly looks to be in sound health now after his recovery from sports hernia surgery limited him early in training camp. Once one of the game’s elite point guards, Williams has lost some luster the last few years while the injuries have piled up, and though he was effective in the opener, it will be difficult to replicate this sort of performance with regularity in his age-32 season. He’s still worthy of a roster spot in just about every format, but expectations should be tempered.
