The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns, 100-96, at BMO Harris Bradley
Center on Sunday Despite there being just four ties and nine lead changes in
this game, it was close throughout. In fact, neither team led by more than nine
points, as the longest run was just 11 points. Free-throw shooting was one of
the biggest factors in Milwaukee’s win, as they went 16-of-18 from the charity
stripe, while the Suns went 11-of-16. Both teams shot well, as the Bucks shot 51
percent from the field and the Suns hit 48 percent of their shots. Bench
production was decisive as well, with Milwaukee winning that battle, 49-33. The
Suns (18-41) have struggled on the road all season, as this marks their 23rd
road loss of the year. T.J. Warren led the way for Phoenix, as he dropped 23
points on 11-of-14 shooting. Eric Bledsoe finished with 11 points, four
rebounds, nine assists, two steals and two blocks. Devin Booker finished second
among starters, totaling 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Alan
Williams was a huge spark off the bench, as he provided 17 points, 15 rebounds,
three assists and three steals. On deck for Phoenix is a road matchup against
the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. The Bucks (26-31) have now won four of their
last five games, as their January swoon seems to be far in the rear view mirror.
Giannis Antetokounmpo carried the load for Milwaukee, as he accumulated 28
points, eight rebounds, six assists and two blocks on 11-of-13 shooting. Tony
Snell was the only other starter in double figures, as he amassed 13 points,
three rebounds and two assists. Greg Monroe came off the bench to collect 13
points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Michael
Beasley led the bench in scoring, as he dropped 17 points on 8-of-10 from the
field. Milwaukee will look to keep rolling on Tuesday, in a road matchup against
the Cleveland Cavaliers.
