Williams was solid in the first game back from the All-Star break on Friday, but
Sunday’s showing was easily the best performance of his career. Williams set
career highs in scoring, assists, steals and minutes played, matched his career
high in rebounding, and now has four double-doubles in 25 appearances during
2016-17. Given how many young players are on the Suns’ roster, it’s probably
unrealistic to expect Williams to see such heavy minutes on a regular basis.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old forward has proven capable of contributing when
given the opportunity, so keep an eye out for him in case this ends up becoming
the new norm.
