Wolves Fall To Mavericks At Home

The Timberwolves lost their sixth straight game on Sunday afternoon after falling to the Dirk Nowitzki-led Mavericks, 93-87.

Minnesota struggled putting the ball in the hoop for the first three quarters, which led to a 68-55 lead for Dallas going into the fourth quarter.

Wolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell said pregame that Nowitzki was, ‘a good player with experience and knows how to get it done.’ That was no exception in this game as Nowitzki dominated all night scoring 29 points on 12-of-22 from the floor and seven rebounds.

The 7’0 German also got a little help from Chandler Parsons who contributed 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and Zaza Pachulia who recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Shabazz Muhammad played well again for Minnesota scoring 16 points and gathering five rebounds, while Wiggins put in 21 and Rubio dishing a game-high eight assists.

Numbers Game

32- Minnesota has struggled as of late putting points up in the fourth quarter, but that was not the case on Sunday afternoon as the Wolves scored this many points in the final 12 minutes.

31:42- Even at the young age of 37, Nowitzki proved he can still play with the best of them as he scored a game high 29 points in this amount of court time.

3-for-18: The Mavericks did not get any help from their backcourt on Sunday as Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews shot poorly all game.

Leader of the Pack: Ricky Rubio

Rubio had a solid overall night for Minnesota scoring 12 points, grabbing seven rebounds, tallying eight assists and three steals.

Highlight of the Night

Muhammad graced the fans with a ferocious dunk midway through the second quarter thanks to a nice no-look dish from Rubio.
