Klay Thompson did Klay Thompson things and the Warriors beat the Trail Blazers 128-108 on Friday night in Portland. The Warriors’ shooting guard caught fire late in a 19-point first quarter and the Dubs cruised to their fifth straight win.
Over the final four and a half minutes of the opening period, the sharp-shooting off-guard knocked down five consecutive 3-pointers. And just for good measure, he beat the quarter buzzer with another jumper, albeit this one of the two-point variety. Thompson had just two fewer points in the quarter than the entire Portland squad, and the Dubs maintained a double-digit advantage for the vast majority of the game’s remainder.
