Timberwolves Guard Jimmy Butler Undergoes Procedure On Right Hand

Jimmy Butler, who was among 35 NBA players on the USA Basketball roster,underwent an elective surgical procedure on his right hand on Tuesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced. The team said Butler has returned to offseason activities.

Butler was among a number of players who were not attending Team USA’s practice in Las Vegas this week, according to the Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps.

Just as notable as the players at Team USA practice in Vegas are the list of guys who are not: Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, Bradley Beal, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, LeBron James, Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, DeAndre Jordan, C.J. McCollum, Gordon Hayward.

Earlier this month, Butler reportedly turned down a four-year extension worth approximately $110 million, according to multiple outlets.

The four-time All-Star averaged 22.2 points, 4.9 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, while shooting a career-high 47 percent in 59 games for the Timberwolves last season.
