Thornton started and scored 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-3 FT, 2-6 3Pt) to go along with eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Monday’s win over the Nets.

The swingman entered the starting five as Washington held several key players out, and he responded with his best scoring output in over two weeks. Thornton could very well start the regular season finale with Washington likely to continue to play it safe with their young stars after already being eliminated from playoff involvement, leaving the door open for Thornton to provide some value Wednesday versus Atlanta.
