Warriors vs. Timberwolves (8 ET, NBA LEAGUE PASS)
Eyes On 10-0
The champion Warriors have sprinted out of the gates in 2015-16 to start 9-0, which ties a franchise records set by the 1960-61 Philadelphia Warriors. They’ve tied the 1994-95 Houston Rockets for the longest win streak to start a season by a defending champion and look to join the 1957-58 Celtics, 1964-65 Celtics and 1996-97 Bulls as the only defending champs to start the season 10-0. The Warriors’ +158 point differential through nine games in the 5th highest of all-time.
30-30-30?
Andrew Wiggins, the reigning Kia Rookie of the Year, has scored 30-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. He sat out the Wolves’ previous game due to a sore right knee, but all signs point towards him playing at home against the Warriors tonight. Will he be able to tally his third straight 30-point game?
Stephen Curry
The reigning Kia MVP does stuff like this on a nightly basis. Why wouldn’t you tune in? He’s connected on at least one 3-pointer in 82 straight regular-season games (102 if you include the playoffs).
Sizzling Start
No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns has recorded five double-doubles in his first seven games, which puts him on a list with David Robinson, Dikembe Mutombo and Shaquille O’Neal as the only rookies to accomplish this feat in the last 30 seasons. Pretty good company, Mr. Towns. Watch and see what the powerful, young center can do against the champions tonight.
Draft Night Regrets
The Timberwolves famously passed on Stephen Curry (twice) in the 2009 NBA Draft, choosing Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn instead. For his career, Curry is averaging 22.5 points on 49 percent shooting from the field and 41.7 percent from 3-point against the Timberwolves. Will he put on another dazzling display tonight in front of the franchise that said no thanks in 2009?
Clippers vs. Suns (10:30 ET, NBA LEAGUE PASS)
Going For Nine Straight
The Clippers have won their last eight matchups with the Suns dating back to the 2013-14 season. A lot has changed in Phoenix since their last win, including the additions of Brandon Knight and Tyson Chandler. Will Chandler be able to slow Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan? There’s only one way to find out … tune in to NBA LEAGUE PASS!
Rough Shooting
Earlier this season when the Suns lost to the Clippers, their stars (Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight and Markieff Morris) combined to shoot 17-for-61 (28 percent) from the field and 4-for-20 (20 percent) from 3-point. Despite their struggles, the Suns only lost be six points. If their shots are falling tonight, it will be an exciting battle in Phoenix as the Clippers will come in extremely motivated after last night’s tough loss in Dallas.
