The Kings look to record their fourth win in five games on Saturday night versus the Golden State Warriors, but the task won’t be easy. Golden State has yet to lose a divisional game this season, and have lost just two of 36 games during the 2015-16 season.
That said, Sacramento made it interesting in the teams’ last meeting – going into halftime with a slight edge on the back of Omri Casspi‘s 26 first half points. It was the only game this season that Stephen Curry was held scoreless in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, DeMarcus Cousins was held to just 12 minutes in the meeting due to foul trouble and an ejection, but has been on a tear of late – averaging 32 points and over 13 rebounds per game in 2016.
For a win against the Warriors, the purple and black will need to tighten their defensive focus after allowing four consecutive opponents to score at least 115 points.
- Golden State defeated Sacramento in each of their matchups this season, averaging 115 points per game.
- Quincy Acy is coming off of his best game of the season, but will be tasked with guarding Warriors forward Draymond Green, who tallied his eighth triple-double of the season on Friday in Portland.
- The Kings will be looking to keep their streak of 32 consecutive games with 20 or more assists active on Thursday night.
