The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without Nemanja Bjelica on Friday as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
Bjelica injured his right foot over the All-Star Break, but he told reporters on Thursday that it’s all kind of a mystery to him.
“I did my normal routine like I always do and when I landed here in Minneapolis I felt some pain in my foot so that’s it,” Bjelica said. “I just did my normal routine like running and on the treadmill.”
The 27-year-old rookie will get his foot checked out on Thursday or Friday. As for now, he’s listed as day-to-day.
“I don’t know how this happened, really, but this is everything, this is part of my job and that’s it. Like I said I did my normal routine and we will see in the next days what is wrong.”
All Quiet On Deadline Day
A year after making one of the biggest moves in franchise history (Kevin Garnett’s return), the Wolves were all quiet on Thursday.
General Manager Milt Newton met with media members after the team’s practice on Thursday to confirm that no moves were made on Minnesota’s end.
“We have our team intact,” Newton said. “We haven’t made any trades. There was nothing that was presented to us that we thought would make our team better.”
Newton said that he did field phone calls – his responsibility – but at the end of the day, there was nothing that intrigued Newton and the basketball ops team enough to make a move.
The Wolves took off for Memphis after practice. They will play the Grizzlies on Friday at 7 p.m. The game will air on Fox Sports North and WCCO 830-AM.
