The NBA announced on Wednesday that Pacers center Myles Turner has been selected to play on the U.S. Team in the 2017 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend in New Orleans. The Rising Stars Challenge will take place on Friday, Feb. 17 at 9:00 PM ET at the Smoothie King Center and will be broadcast nationally on TNT.
Turner, a 6-11 center out of Texas, is averaging 15.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game this season. The 20-year-old, selected by the Pacers with the 11th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, is shooting 53.2 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from 3-point range, and 80.7 percent from the free throw line through 43 games.

Turner is the seventh Pacers player to be selected to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge, and the first since Paul George in 2012. Other past participants include Danny Granger (2006 and 2007), Sarunas Jasikevicius (2006), Jamaal Tinsley (2002 and 2003), Erick Dampier (1997), and Antonio Davis (1994).
