Nogueira is still hampered by a sprained left ankle, which he suffered during Friday’s exhibition finale against the Wizards. In his absence, coach Dwane Casey said rookie Jakob Poeltl will see minutes off the bench, while starting center Jonas Valanciunas figures to see a slightly larger workload. Nogueira’s next chance to take the court will come Friday night when the Raptors play host to the defending champion Cavaliers.
