Hawks snap Bulls’ streak with 120-105 win

The Atlanta Hawks (23-15) ended a six-game Chicago Bulls (22-13) win streak on Saturday with a 120-105 victory.

The Hawks' Al Horford missed a career high by just one point, recording a game-high 33 points. The All-Star took over the game, adding 10 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks to the already impressive night.  The entire Hawks squad was flowing offensively, as the team tallied a highly impressive 33 total assists.  Horford's big night was complemented by the performance of big man Paul Millsap, who scored 18 points while blocking six shots.

Headed into the matchup against Atlanta, the surging Bulls sat at second in the East. The Bulls had recorded six straight victories, establishing themselves as one of the top dogs in the East. Even in the loss, the Bulls maintained multiple bright spots. Star Jimmy Butler recorded a team-high 27 points, while forward Nikola Mirotic recorded a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double. Unfortunately for Chicago, these efforts weren't enough, as it was a fairly cut-and-dry victory for the Hawks.

Atlanta will not take the court again until Wednesday as they travel to Charlotte to face the struggling Hornets.  The Bulls, meanwhile, will take on the Washington Wizards on Monday.
