The Toronto Raptors play host to the Portland Trail Blazers at Air Canada Center
on Sunday evening. The new-look Raptors (34-24) are coming off an impressive
107-97 comeback win over the Celtics on Friday. The Raptors trailed by as many
as 17 points but were able to rally back behind a career-high 43-point
performance from DeMar DeRozan. Newcomers Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker gave
Toronto a good boost on both ends of the floor and helped their new team come
out with a much-needed win, despite missing Kyle Lowry. Lowry missed the contest
due to a sore wrist and remains doubtful for action on Sunday. The Raptors have
won two straight dating back to February 15th and are 20-10 at home this season.
Toronto sits fourth in the East, 1.0 game behind the third-place Wizards.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers (24-33) won their first game after the break, as
they rallied back to defeat the host Magic 112-103 on Thursday. The Blazers
trailed by eight entering the fourth quarter but were able to claw back, as
Damian Lillard led the way with a game-high 33 points and C.J. McCollum followed
up with 22. The Trail Blazers sit 10th in the West, 1.5 games out of eighth
place and are 10-20 on the road this season. They allow an average of 110.0
points per game, which is fifth-worst in the league.
