The Cleveland Cavaliers face the second night of a back-to-back, as they play
host to the Indiana Pacers, at Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday evening. The
Cavs (38-16) are coming off a hard-fought win over the Timberwolves on Tuesday,
where LeBron James and Kyrie Irving led the way with 25 points each. Channing
Frye did a fantastic job, as he started in place of the injured Kevin Love. Frye
finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, in 33 minutes of action. The Cavs are
8-2 in their last 10 games and have won two straight. This game marks the first
of a four-game home stand, after playing five of their last six on the road. The
Cavs have won four straight at home, where they are 23-5 so far this season.
Cleveland will remain without Kevin Love (knee) for about the next six week,
while J.R. Smith (thumb) is still a couple weeks away from return. After winning
seven straight, the Pacers (29-26) have hit a four-game slide. Their most recent
loss came at home to the Spurs on Saturday, where Paul George led the way with
27 points and Myles Turner followed up with 22. Indiana sits sixth in the East,
with a 2.5-game cushion over the seventh-place Bulls, and only 2.5 games behind
the Raptors. The season series between Indiana and Cleveland is tied up at one
apiece, while the match up of Paul George and LeBron James is one to be
anticipated. George leads the Pacers with 22.6 points per game, while James
averages 25.8 to lead the Cavs. Thaddeus Young (wrist) will remain out through
Wednesday, while Lavoy Allen (knee) is listed as questionable. The Pacers have
won two of their last three games on the road, where they are 9-17 so far this
season.
