With both Dwyane Wade (wrist) and Jimmy Butler (heel) missing Sunday’s game
against the Timberwolves, McDermott was thrust into the starting lineup at small
forward. He ended up playing 29 minutes, while posting 16 points (6-15 FG, 4-7
3Pt), one rebound, two assists and two turnovers. However, with Butler slated to
rejoin the starting lineup Tuesday against the Raptors, McDermott should move
back to the bench, which likely means a drop in playing time to minutes in the
low 20’s.
