Derrick Jones: Enters rotation for second straight game

Jones, an undrafted rookie best known for finish second in the Verizon Slam Dunk
Contest over All-Star weekend, has received his first serious looks in the Suns
rotation all season over the last two games. With the Suns trading away P.J.
Tucker to the Raptors on Thursday, Jones has stepped in as the main backup to
starting small forward T.J. Warren. At this point in the season, the rebuilding
Suns, who check in at last place in the Western Conference, have little to lose
by seeing what the athletic rookie can do, so Jones figures to stick in the
rotation over the next few weeks. Even so, he’ll likely struggle to see enough
minutes behind Warren to consistently produce quality numbers.
