Dallas Wings Add Cayla George

Arlington, TX –The Dallas Wings have signed center Cayla George. George who was
originally signed by the Phoenix Mercury in 2015 will wear #22 for the Wings.

“Cayla brings a versatile game to our roster, with the ability to play multiple
positions on the floor,” Wings President & CEO Greg Bibb stated. “She is an
outstanding rebounder and a player who has the ability to extend her shooting
range well outside the paint. We are excited to add her to our team.”

George most recently competed in the Connecticut Sun’s training camp after
playing for the Mercury in 2015 and 2017. Overall, she has played in 66 WNBA
games, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest. On July 28, 2017
George set a WNBA record for most defensive rebounds by a bench player with 14
against the Chicago Sky. The Australian native also owns two career
double-doubles, seven 10+ scoring games and three 10+ rebounding outings in her
career.

In 2016 George sat out the WNBA season in preparation for her Olympic debut at
the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Her Australian side included Wings center Liz
Cambage and assistant coach Erin Phillips.

The 6-foot-4 center started her professional basketball career in 2005 when she
debuted in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League and played for the
Australian Institute for Sport for three years. In 2007 she was named WNBL
Bettie Watson Rookie of the Year when she averaged 13.2 points and 8.2 rebounds
per game. Throughout her international play, George has participated in numerous
championship rounds. In 2011 and 2013 she won gold in the FIBA Oceania
Championship for Women. She also collected a silver medal in the 2007 FIBA U19
World Championship for Women and FIBA U21 World Championship for Women as a
member of Team Australia.

For the Wings to make room on roster, the team has waived center Breanna Lewis.
