Players To Watch: Dec. 7
Andre Drummond, C ($9,600)
The rebound-machine continues to thrive in Detroit with averages of 20.2 points on 16.0 attempts, 16.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.4 blocks for 46.54 FanDuel points in 33.2 minutes over his last five games. Drummond and the Pistons matchup with the Charlotte Hornets tonight (7 ET, League Pass), who have struggled on the boards since Al Jefferson (strained calf) went down with injury. Since his injury on November 29, the Hornets rank last in rebounds allowed at 50.3 per game and have grabbed just 47.0 percent of available rebounds, which is third worst in the league over this period. For comparison, Drummond leads the league with a rebound rate of 25.2 percent over this period. If these trends keep up, expect another big night from Drummond.
? Tonight on NBA TV: FanDuel Tip-Off Show (6:30 ET) ?
Deron Williams, PG ($6,900)
After a stretch of strong performances, Williams had his worst shooting game of the season (2-for-12) against the Wizards on Sunday night. Despite the poor shooting, Williams was still able to tally 33.9 FanDuel points thanks to his collection of nine assists, seven rebounds and a steal in 39 minutes of action. The high workload is the best daily fantasy feature of Williams, who ranks fifth in the NBA for minutes per game (39.2) over his last four games. Over this span, he’s also averaging 18.3 points on 14.8 attempts, 7.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals for 35.05 FanDuel points. A matchup against Jose Calderon ($4,500) and the New York Knicks (7:30 ET, League Pass) should provide Williams plenty of opportunities to produce.
Evan Turner, SF ($5,000)
A matchup against the defense-less New Orleans Pelicans (8 ET, NBA TV) makes Turner an interesting option tonight. He’s been sporadic all season, with FanDuel totals ranging from the mid-30s to the low teens. As for all players, minutes are the biggest factor in his production. Over his last three games, Turner’s minutes are up as he averages 29.7 minutes, 11.7 points on 11.3 attempts, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals for 22.73 FanDuel points. His ceiling is limited, but it’s likely he hits five times the value of his $5,000 salary if he receives extended playing time against the worst defense in the league tonight.
Jamal Crawford, SG ($4,600)
Crawford embraced an increased role with Chris Paul (ribs) out and dominated for 32 points on 6-for-9 from 3-point in a win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday. It was his second 30-plus point game of the season, with the first also coming as Paul sat on the bench. It’s unwise to expect a third 30-plus point game from Crawford against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight (8 ET, League Pass). But with Paul likely out again, Crawford should see an increased role in the Clippers’ offense that makes five times the value of his $4,600 salary well within reach. Over his last two games, Crawford is averaging 24.0 points on 17.5 attempts, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds for 31.7 FanDuel points in 34.2 minutes.
Cody Zeller, PF ($3,800)
After a disappointing performance in his start against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Zeller played his best game of the season against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. He tallied 17 points on 10 attempts, eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block for 33.6 FanDuel points in 32 minutes of action. With Al Jefferson (strained calf) sidelined, Zeller will draw a third-straight start against the Detroit Pistons tonight (7 ET, League Pass). Zeller will have his hands full with Drummond, but he should be able to reach 30-plus minutes as long as he doesn’t fall into foul trouble. At $3,800, Zeller is an intriguing, low-cost option tonight.
