Love underwent a knee scope Tuesday and is expected to remain out until
late-March, and Frye is the obvious candidate to receive more playing time in
his absence. The Cavs have already named Frye a starter for Tuesday’s game
against Minnesota, and that will likely remain the case going forward, barring a
significant roster move before the trade deadline. Cleveland was already going
to be in the market for another rotation-caliber player or two at the deadline,
and Love’s absence only makes the team’s quest to take pressure off of LeBron
James and Kyrie Irving more of a pressing issue. That said, from a fantasy
perspective, Frye should be treated as a starter until — or unless — the
Cavaliers make a move that would affect the frontcourt rotation.
