Jimmy Butler will miss the Chicago Bulls’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to swelling and soreness in the same knee that sidelined the All-Star guard for 11 games.
Butler returned Saturday night against Houston and scored 24 points in Chicago’s 108-100 victory. But he had some stiffness in his back after practice on Sunday and then developed some swelling in his left knee on Monday.
Coach Fred Hoiberg says Butler will meet with the team doctor on Monday night and he “would imagine some type of test will happen in the next few days.” Hoiberg says it’s too early to determine how long Butler might be out.
The 26-year-old Butler is averaging 22.4 points in 49 games this season. Chicago had lost four in a row before the victory against Houston.
