Bucks win third straight at home

The Milwaukee Bucks (17-25) defeated the Atlanta Hawks (23-17) 108-101 on Friday night at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

After a close game the whole way through, it took overtime to solve this one. In the overtime period Milwaukee outscored Atlanta 13-6, handing the Hawks their second straight loss. The Bucks also extended their home win streak to three games.

Six players scored in double digits for the Bucks, including all five starters. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a huge double-double, leading all scorers with 28 points (10-18 FG, 7-9 FT) and pulling down 16 rebounds. Two other players rebounded in double digits for the Bucks. Greg Monroe hauled in 12 rebounds along with his 15 points, while Jabari Parker finished with 10 points and 10 boards. As a team the Bucks logged a monstrous 60 rebounds but it was their 25 free throws (25-37 FT) that really made the difference in this one.

The Hawks hurled up 100 shots in this game but only hit 43 of them. Also in contrast to Milwaukee's 37 free throw attempts, Atlanta only got to the line six times. Paul Millsap finished with a solid double-double, including 23 points (10-19 FG) and 10 rebounds, along with six assists and four blocks, in 32 minutes. Al Horford struggled from the field but tallied 18 points (9-23 FG), eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks, in 40 minutes. Jeff Teague dished 10 assists but only shot 4-13, leading to nine points. Atlanta must get back on track as soon as possible because losing another two games could have them right out of the top eight in the East.

Next the Hawks will face the second of a back to back as they host the Nets on Saturday.

The Bucks will also be facing the second of a back to back as play in Charlotte on Saturday.
