The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Detroit Pistons, 102-89, at BMO Harris Bradley
Center on Monday. Despite this game being close throughout the first quarter,
the Bucks took care of business in dominating fashion. The second quarter was
the decisive stretch, with Milwaukee winning that quarter, 28-15. Shooting was
the key, as the Bucks shot 51 percent, while holding the Pistons to just 44
percent. The assist-to-turnover differential was decisive as well, with
Milwaukee recording 26 assists to 11 turnovers, while Detroit matched their
assists and turnovers at 17 a piece. The Bucks also went a perfect 16-of-16 from
the free-throw line in their win. The Pistons (26-30) were coming off a huge
comeback win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, but this blowout loss makes
that road win look much less valuable. Andre Drummond was Detroit’s best player,
as he collected 21 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Marcus Morris led the
team in scoring, as he tallied 26 points, five rebounds and three assists on
10-of-17 shooting. Jon Leuer recorded a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double,
while going 6-of-9 from the field. On deck for Detroit is a home matchup against
the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The Bucks (24-30) have now won two-straight,
as they hope this is the start of a big run. Greg Monroe abused his former team,
as he led Milwaukee with 25 points, 13 rebounds and three steals on 12-of-15
shooting off the bench. Michael Beasley led the starters, as he accrued 23
points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals on 10-of-13 from the
field. Tony Snell finished third on the team with 16 points and two rebounds.
Milwaukee will look to keep rolling on Wednesday in a road matchup with the
Brooklyn Nets,
