PHOENIX – 2014 WNBA Champion and one of the WNBA’s leading MVP candidates,
Brittney Griner, will return to the Mercury lineup tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 12,
when Phoenix takes on the Seattle Storm at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Tip-off
is set for 7 p.m.
Currently the WNBA’s leader in scoring and blocks, Griner missed the Mercury’s
last eight games after suffering a left knee bone bruise and right ankle sprain
during a game on Friday, Aug. 14.
Griner is averaging a career-high and WNBA-best 22.3 points, while shooting a
blistering 57.7 percent from the field. The 6-9 center ranks eighth in the
league in rebounding with a career-best 8.2 boards and is leading the league in
blocks for the fifth consecutive season in her five-year career (2.5).
