After the Suns failed to find a trade partner for Knight at the deadline last
Thursday, it appears the team is more or less writing the 25-year-old off as a
sunk cost for the final third of the season. Knight has failed to appear in
either of the Suns’ two games since the deadline, as coach Earl Watson has
deployed Tyler Ulis and Leandro Barbosa as his primary guards on the second
unit. It may take an injury in order for Knight to rejoin the mix, but he likely
wouldn’t take on a meaningful enough role to deliver fantasy value outside of
deeper formats. Look for the Suns to shop Knight throughout the offseason,
though they may continue to struggle to find a suitor willing to commit to him
through 2019-20, the final year of his contract.
