Alec Burks: Out indefinitely following procedure on ankle

It looks as if Burks’ ankle inflammation is even more serious than initially thought and there is no timetable for his return at this time. For now, Burks will likely be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, but his absence leaves the Jazz very light on backcourt depth, especially with Joe Johnson doing most of his work at small forward to start the year. Look for Rodney Hood to continue to play heavy minutes at shooting guard with both Joe Ingles and Dante Exum taking on a majority of the backcourt minutes off the bench in Burks’ absence.
