The Magic’s offseason acquisition of Serge Ibaka has resulted in Gordon spending
most of his time at small forward this season, but his 29.5 percent mark from
beyond the arc always made him a poor fit at this position. With the rebuilding
Magic seemingly going back to the drawing board after trading Ibaka to the
Raptors on Tuesday, Gordon should move back over to his more natural spot in the
frontcourt, which should prove beneficial to his production. Though Gordon is
averaging a career-high 11.2 points per game, his dalliance with the outside
shot this season has dropped him to a career-worst 42.9 percent mark from the
field. Expect his efficiency to improve while he spends more time closer to the
basket, with his rebound rate also likely to tick up.
