The Philadelphia 76ers (7-39) led for the entirety of the final three quarters in a win Wednesday over the Phoenix Suns (14-32) at Wells Fargo Center, 113-103.
The game was decided at the three-point line, as the 76ers had a 15-point advantage from downtown thanks to a sharp 11-28 shooting night (39.3 percent). The Suns, meanwhile, managed just 6-19 from deep (31.6 percent) and missed 10 of their first 13 attempts from beyond the arc, by which point it was too late to mount a comeback.
Ish Smith scored 20 points and dished a game-high nine assists to spearhead the Philadelphia offense, and Robert Covington sunk five three-pointers to power his 19-point effort, and Nerlens Noel had a solid all-around night inside, as he scored 14 points on an efficient 5-7 shooting night, grabbed nine rebounds, and recorded three steals and three blocks.
Archie Goodwin led all scorers with 26 points on a strong all-around night for Phoenix, as he grabbed six rebounds, dished six assists, and notched two steals. Alex Len posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, but nobody else got going, as just four Suns finished in double figures and nobody besides Goodwin or Len managed more than 12.
The 76ers have won two of three and three of their last five, and they'll head on the road for a Wednesday game against the Pistons. The Suns will remain on the road for a Wednesday contest in Cleveland.
