X Ambassadors to perform during NBA on TNT opening night

Turner Sports today announced chart-topping rock band X Ambassadors will perform live from Pier 43 in San Francisco on Tuesday night, October 27, as part of the NBA on TNT Opening Night Concert Charged by Mtn Dew. The high-energy musical performance will be part of a daylong Turner Sports attraction — free to the public — originating from Pier 43 to celebrate the start of the 2015-16 NBA regular season.

A portion of the live performance will be televised live during the hour-long NBA on TNT Opening Night 2015 presented by Autotrader pre-game show airing at 7 p.m. ET, as well as throughout the evening’s broadcast. As part of the event, X Ambassadors will perform its #1 hit song “Renegades,” written and recorded by the Ithaca, N.Y. quartet and a featured track on their debut album VHS. Turner Sports will officially launch Kia NBA Tip-Off ’15, the opening week of the NBA season, with a pair of marquee doubleheaders and these special live broadcasts and on-site attractions from the Bay Area — home of the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.

TNT will open the season with a doubleheader Tuesday, Oct. 27, with the Sports Emmy Award winning Inside the NBA studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal providing live pre-game, halftime and post-game coverage from Pier 43 throughout the evening. Due to space restrictions, the area immediately surrounding the stage location will be limited to credentialed fans during the TNT telecasts and live concert event.

The network’s live game action will feature the NBA Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James visiting the Chicago Bulls and Jimmy Butler at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Warriors and Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry hosting the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis at 10:30 p.m. TNT’s live game coverage will include the Ring Ceremony for the Warriors prior to their showdown with the Pelicans.

Kevin Harlan will call the Cavs/Bulls telecast with analyst Reggie Miller and reporter David Aldridge, with Marv Albert providing play-by-play for Pelicans/Warriors with analyst Chris Webber and reporter Craig Sager.
