Wilson Chandler: Takes another positive step with 15-point effort

So far, so good for Chandler in his comeback from the hip injury that wiped out his 2015-16 season. The veteran forward is averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 20.5 minutes over the first two exhibition contests, with Friday’s effort representing a notable uptick of nine minutes in playing time. Barring any setbacks, Chandler’s workload will likely continue to be progressively ramped up as the preseason slate unfolds, in an effort to have him ready to take on a full allotment of minutes by the season opener. However, with the emergence of Danilo Gallinari at Chandler’s old starting small forward spot last season, the latter will come off the bench to begin the new campaign, with the very real possibility of starter’s minutes if the oft-injured Gallinari were to be sidelined at some point.
