Reed was able to take part in the Heat’s morning shootaround and noted afterward
that he felt well enough to play, but since he’s not fully recovered from his
inflamed right calf, coach Erik Spoelsta may only ask the backup center to play
in brief spurts during both halves. In 50 appearances this season, Reed is
averaging 14.7 minutes per game, so he won’t see extensive playing time once
he’s further removed from the calf injury.
