Barton will miss his fourth straight game Tuesday night against the Grizzlies since suffering a sprained ankle last Monday. The sprain looks to be more severe than initially anticipated, and at this point Barton appears poised to miss at least three more games beyond Tuesday. With Malone’s timeline in mind, Barton could perhaps be targeting a return for Denver’s Nov. 16 matchup with the Suns. So long as Barton remains out, Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari will see most of the minutes at small forward, while rookie Jamal Murray should see a slight boost in playing time.
