The big man was encouragingly able to play a robust allotment of minutes despite admittedly still being in pain from his fall in Game 1, and did a much better job helping to contain Jonas Valanciunas overall than he had in the series opener. However, the Raptors center was able to produce when it counted the most, as he recorded 11 points and seven rebouns in the fourth quarter and overtime. Whiteside did manage double-digit boards for the second time in the series’ first two games, and the third straight postseason game overall. The performance also marked his sixth double-double of the playoffs to date, and he’ll continue to be an integral part of the Heat attack as the series shifts to Miami in a 1-1 deadlock.
