Warriors beat Grizzlies 100-84 on Wednesday

The Golden State Warriors (9-0) handled the Memphis Grizzlies (3-6) yet again in a 100-84 victory on Wednesday.

After a 50-point loss just nine days ago, the Grizzlies put in another poor performance against the Warriors as they lost by 17 in Wednesday. It all started with a 26-15 first quarter and the Warriors didnt look back after that. The Golden State defense absolutely stifled Memphis in this game, as the Grizzlies shot just 34 percent, while shooting just 3-of-15 from three-point range. The Warriors have one of the best defenses in the NBA and the Grizzlies have one of the worst offenses, so this was simply a mismatch of epic proportions.

The Warriors were once again led by MVP Steph Curry, as he recorded 28 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in the victory. Golden State also got another nice performance from Harrison Barnes, who tallied 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. This is such a scary team right now, considering Klay Thompson has been struggling and the Warriors have been playing without their head coach Steve Kerr. The sky is the limit for this young team and after the winning the title last season, it's a nightmare for the rest of the league that they are better this year. They'll look to stay undefeated against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday in the second half of a back-to-back.

The Grizzlies offense continues to be putrid, as they nearly matched their turnover total (21) with the amount of baskets they made (24) in this game. This team thrives on its defense and this is now the fifth game they have allowed at least 100 points so far this season. If they can't hold teams under 100 points with the offense they have, they simply can't win enough games to compete in the Western Conference. One bright spot in the loss has to be center Marc Gasol, who scored a season-high 26 points while grabbing seven boards in the defeat. The Grizzlies also made 33-of-36 free-throws in the loss, which is an impressive feat in its own right. Memphis will be happy not to face the Warriors for a while, as they'll host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday in their next scheduled matchup.
