The Celtics were sitting out four of their regular starters for Saturday’s game, including prized offseason acquisition Al Horford, which opened up some extra minutes for Zeller. After opening last season in a starting role before slowly seeing his playing time dwindle over the course of the campaign, Zeller isn’t a safe bet to open 2016-17 as a member of the Celtics’ rotation, especially if Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) is able to return to action in time for the season opener.
