While the news isn’t necessarily encouraging for Thompson, the fact that it is a precautionary measure means that chances are low that the Cavaliers’ starting center misses any time to start the regular season. Thompson’s next opportunity to play will be Oct. 13 against Toronto, but until then, Chris Andersen will continue to be in line to start at center for Cleveland.
