Top Five Plays Of The Week: Nov. 9 – Nov. 15

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. – The Clippers got back on track late last week with a win against the Pistons.

Plenty of highlight-reel material from that game, which gave the Clippers something to hang their hats on with four days off before their next game. Take a look back at the top highlights from last week’s games against Memphis, Dallas, Phoenix and Detroit.

5) Jordan stuffs Allen

A Clippers highlight can occur before the first point is even scored. That’s what Jordan made sure of to start the game against Memphis, as he makes his way down court and meets Allen’s lay-up attempt with his palm.

4) Griffin to DJ

Griffin and Crawford led the way for the Clippers against the Pistons, and not just with their scoring. Here, Griffin buys his time to lob it up to Jordan, who knows what to do with the pass.

3) Griffin through traffic

Griffin has an uncanny ability as a power forward to dribble his way out of trouble. He somehow splits the double team, leaving Anthony Tolliver on the ground, as he gets to the hoop for the lay-in. “He broke two sets of ankles,” Ralph Lawler said.

2) Pierce lob, Jordan jam

When Jordan’s on the floor, lobs can come from anywhere. Steve Blake is late to put a body on Jordan in the paint, and Paul Pierce finds the big man, who finishes the alley-oop behind his back.

1) Passing to perfection

It’s sequences such as this one which make the Clippers’ starting unit so tough to guard at full strength. Each of the Clippers’ five starters has an ability to dish. It went Chris Paul to J.J. Redick to Blake Griffin, back to Chris Paul, who finds Redick again. Then it’s Redick to Paul, who gets in a pick-and-roll with Griffin, who finds Jordan with the lob.
