Tony Allen: Ruled out for Wednesday’s opener

Initially deemed questionable, Allen has now been downgraded to out after the team put him through an evaluation at morning shootaround. The veteran missed all six of Memphis’ preseason games with a sore right knee, and it’s unclear if he’ll be ready for the Grizzlies’ next game Saturday in New York. In Allen’s absence Wednesday, expect to see more of James Ennis, as well as Vince Carter (knee) and Wade Baldwin (knee), assuming both players are given the green light to play.
