Throwback Thursday: Jennings, Love Set Records

Welcome to Throwback Thursday here on NBA.com and NBA TV.

Each week, we’ll delve into the NBA’s photo archives to uncover great images from way back when and, starting this summer, NBA TV will join in on the fun, airing the best games related to our topic for that week.

Kevin Love and Brandon Jennings

Today on Throwback Thursday we honor two of the best games from Kevin Love and Brandon Jennings.

On November 12, 2010, Love tallied 31 points and 31 rebounds for the first (and only) 30-point, 30-rebound game of his career. It was the first 30-30 game since Moses Malone collected 32 points and 38 rebounds against Seattle in 1982. Michael Beasley also scored 35 points in the game.

On November 14, 2009, Brandon Jennings scored a career-high 55 points with five assists in just his seventh NBA game. Jennings was held scoreless in the first quarter before scoring 29 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth to break the Bucks’ single-game scoring record, which was previously held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. After the game, opposing coach Don Nelson called it, “probably the best rookie performance I’ve ever witnessed in 30-some years of coaching.”
