Thompson tallied 27 points (10-14 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, one assist, and one steal across 29 minutes during the Warriors’ 114-81 victory versus the Rockets in Wednesday’s Game 5.

Thompson stepped up just as he has all season when Stephen Curry (knee) has been injured. Through five games in the first round, Thompson averaged 23.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals in 34 minutes. Looking ahead to the second round, Thompson will need to keep Golden State afloat until the reigning MVP returns. As a result, expect Thompson to look for his shot early and often at the very least until Curry returns.
