Thompson played 31 minutes in Monday’s loss to the Cavaliers, scoring 12 points (3-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT) while adding six rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Though the return of Robert Covington (knee) bumped Thompson from his starting role, it didn’t seem to have much of an impact on Thompson’s playing time. He’s played 30-plus minutes in each of the Sixers’ three games, and while he’s shot just 31 percent from the field, he’s performed well enough in other areas to remain a key rotation player under coach Brett Brown. If his minutes continue to remain stable in the near term, Thompson might be an attractive pickup for those in deeper formats.
