Warriors Assistant Coach Bruce Fraser is hands down one of the most cool and interesting people you could ever hope to meet – a great spirit who brings a tremendous vibe to each and every day with the team.
Coach Kerr and “Q,” as Fraser is called, played in college together at the University of Arizona and now team up to help bring the best out of Warriors players while engaging the squad in a variety of ways. One noted example is the team film sessions that Nick U’Ren, special assistant to the head coach, helps facilitate where a concerted effort is made to captivate, inform and entertain.
Our ‘Most Interesting Man in the NBA’ video used in one of these film sessions was spurred on by Raymond Ridder, the team’s VP of Communications, and took form as we sat around a dinner table in Chicago trading lines. The next month we were in Miami with a day between games and started putting it together. The team saw the clip before that epic overtime win a few nights later in Oklahoma City.
Warriors broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald encouraged that this go from a behind-the-scenes video to something shared with the fans and got it into the broadcast during Sunday’s win over the 76ers.
It’s no hyperbole, Coach Fraser is everything and more that you see in the video.
