Terrence Jones: Plays 15 minutes while returning to bench Monday

Jones had a stat-sheet-stuffing performance while starting in the Pelicans’ previous game Friday against the Suns with 19 points, seven boards, six assists and four blocks in 28 minutes, but coach Alvin Gentry decided to move him back to bench Monday, as Omer Asik garnered the start in the frontcourt next to Anthony Davis. It was still expected that Jones would receive ample run off the bench, but after failing to offer much impact on the boards while accruing three turnovers and two fouls, Gentry opted to lean more heavily on Dante Cunningham (26 minutes) instead. With the playing-time distribution between Jones, Asik and Cunningham varying wildly through the team’s first seven games, it’s difficult to trust any in fantasy at this time, though Jones possesses the highest upside of the group.
