Temple, Gasol, Conley Lead Grizzlies Past Wizards 107-95

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Garrett Temple scored 20 points, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley added 19 apiece and the Memphis Grizzlies sent the Washington Wizards to their fourth straight loss with a 107-95 victory on Tuesday night.

Shelvin Mack added 14 for Memphis, which won its second straight and opened the season 3-0 at home. Conley added seven assists, while Temple had seven rebounds.

John Wall led Washington with 22 points, while backcourt mate Bradley Beal scored 17 points. Kelly Oubre finished with 16 points, and Otto Porter contributed 15.

The game started getting away from Washington when the Grizzlies ran off an 18-1 rally to open the third and take an 18-point lead.

Washington, struggling through a five-game road trip, managed to make a run to close the third, leaving Memphis with a 78-72 lead entering the fourth. Austin Rivers’ floater cut it to 86-82.

But Temple scored the next five points on a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer. When Conley dropped in another 3-pointer, the Memphis lead was back to double digits. The Grizzlies made four of their first five 3-pointers in the fourth to hold off Washington.

Memphis struggled to start the game, but the Wizards committed 13 turnovers in the first half, including eight in the second quarter. Washington made five 3-pointers in that period to trail only 46-45 at halftime, with Wall scoring 14 points.
