TDIKH: January 13

Thirty-seven points from Kobe Bryant was just enough to stave off a comeback from Memphis, giving the Lakers a six-game winning streak — their longest in nearly four years.

Bryant shot 10-of-25 from the field and 14-of-15 on free throws, while no other member of the purple and gold scored more than 10 points in its 100-99 win.

The Lakers entered the final quarter with a 10-point lead, but the Grizzlies took a 96-95 edge with two minutes left. From there, Bryant hit a pair of free throws and then followed with a layup.

But Rudy Gay responded with a 3-pointer with 32 seconds remaining to tie things up. However, Kwame Brown ended up hitting the go-ahead free throw for the win just 23 seconds later.

Mike Miller racked up 27 points for Memphis, while future Laker Pau Gasol compiled 21 points and 18 rebounds. But Bryant was more than enough on his own, hitting his 1,000th career 3-pointer along the way.
