Sun Re-Sign Alex Bentley

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (February 7, 2017) – The Connecticut Sun announced today that
it has re-signed veteran guard Alex Bentley.

No terms of the multi-year deal were released.

“I’m so thankful to be continuing my career in Connecticut,” said Bentley, a
four-year WNBA veteran currently playing in Turkey. “The coaching staff has
embraced me since day one and has allowed me to grow as a player on the court.
I’m excited about our future as a franchise and hope our fans are just as
excited to watch us do some exciting things in the near future.”

Bentley made a career-best 34 starts last season, and she led the team in
scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game. She was second on the team in assists
(85), and set new single-season career highs for made threes (48), made field
goals (169), rebounds (63) and free throws (51) while also playing a career-high
979 minutes.

“We are excited that Alex has signed a multi-year contract as she heads into the
prime of her career,” Connecticut Sun head coach and general manager Curt Miller
said. “She gives us a versatile combo guard with an aggressive scoring
mentality. She has produced consistent numbers over the last three seasons for
the Sun and I appreciate the confidence that she brings onto the court.”

Bentley collected her 1,500th career point and 350th assist during the 2016 WNBA
season. She was named an Eastern Conference All Star during the 2015 season.
