A daily look at the standout performers of the day at the Summer League in Orlando. Here are the day’s top players for Day 2:
Aaron Harrison, Charlotte Hornets
The outside shots still aren’t falling, but Harrison came back in the second of back-to-back games and played more under control and with better efficiency to his game at both ends of the floor. He shot just 6-for-16 for his 15 points, but dealt six assists, grabbed five rebounds and was engaged defensively.
Glenn Robinson III, Indiana Pacers
Two games into the Orlando Pro Summer League, he’s been the steadiest player in the Indiana lineup. It shows that he’s got 80 games worth of NBA experience of the past two seasons. He’s struggling to make perimeter shots, but kept his cool and found ways to get to the basket for 16 points (7-for15), adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals in a loss to the Hornets.
Dakari Johnson, Oklahoma City Thunder
The 7-footer who spent last season with the OKC Blue of the D-League made his presence felt. Johnson was like a prizefighter delivering body punches, throwing his size and weight around for 15 points and 12 rebounds to provide an anchor in the middle for OKC’s 81-72 win over the Clippers.
