Stanley Johnson: Uninspiring bench performance in preseason opener

The second-year forward wasn’t too inspiring during his time on the court, particularly in comparison to the effort put forth by the man in front of him on the depth chart, Marcus Morris. Although his Summer League numbers– 16.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals– were certainly respectable, Johnson’s shot efficiency left much to be desired. Johnson looks destined for a reprisal of his rookie campaign sixth man role, which led to averages of 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks over 23.1 minutes in 73 games.
