Spurs Handle Pistons

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the host Detroit Pistons 103-92, at The Palace of
Auburn Hills on Friday evening. The Spurs got out to a quick start, earning a
27-19 advantage after one quarter. They built on that advantage, bringing to
score to 60-41 by halftime. The Pistons came up with a strong second half,
outscoring the Spurs 51-43, however it was not enough to make up for their early
struggles, as the Spurs walked away with their fifth win in six games. Kawhi
Leonard led the way for San Antonio (41-12) with a game-high 32 points on
11-of-22 shooting, to go along with six rebounds and five assists, in 33
minutes. LaMarcus Aldridge followed up with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while
Dewayne Dedmon came up huge with 17 points and 17 rebounds, in 32 minutes. The
Spurs go on to visit New York, as they take on the Knicks on Sunday. Meanwhile,
seven players scored in double digits for the Pistons (25-29), including Tobias
Harris, who led the way with 16 in 33 minutes off the bench. Ish Smith chipped
in 15 points off the bench, while Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond finished
with 12 points each. Jon Leuer, Marcus Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
finished with 10 each. The Pistons go on to visit Toronto, where they will take
on the Raptors on Sunday.
