Spurs Dismantle Clippers, Record Third Straight Win

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the visiting Los Angeles Clippers, 120-107, at
AT&T Center on Tuesday evening. The Spurs (7-4) conquered their third straight
win on the heels of an impressive shooting performance from long range. San
Antonio hit 53.6 percent of their three-pointers, and ultimately that made a
difference against a Clippers (5-5) team that lost their third straight contest.
Meanwhile, the Spurs are quietly building a decent winning streak of their own,
since they registered their third straight win after dropping four straight a
few days ago. The Clippers lost their fifth game out of their last six contests.
As it has been the trend all season long, LaMarcus Aldridge led the offense for
San Antonio. The veteran power forward finished with 25 points (on 10-of-19 from
the field) and also added six rebounds. Pau Gasol came close to add a
double-double thanks to 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Danny
Green contributed with 24 points. Rudy Gay added 22 off the bench, giving the
Spurs a much-needed scoring threat in the second unit. On the other hand, the
Clippers featured Austin Rivers as their top scorer. The guard finished with 24
points, while Blake Griffin chipped in with 15 points, 10 rebounds and six
assists. DeAndre Jordan finished with 11 points and seven boards. Lou Williams
added a nice scoring output off the bench, finishing with 17 points in 28
minutes of action.
